Collective punishment continues: 15 people, including party leader’s sons are forcibly disappeared:
The central spokesperson of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) said in a statement that Pakistan is not only pursuing a policy of collective punishment in Balochistan but is also intensifying it. Today, two sons of Dr. Khuda Bakhsh Baloch, a member of the BNM Central Committee, were forcibly disappeared by the Pakistan Army from Baghbana area of Khuzdar. On the one hand, the families of the disappeared persons are being assured that their loved ones will be recovered, on the other hand, a large number of people are being arrested and transferred to secret torture cells.
The spokesman said that Abdul Waheed and Nisar Ahmed were picked up and disappeared under the policy of
collective punishment due to their father Dr Khuda Bakhsh’s affiliation with BNM. Abdul Waheed was earlier picked up and disappeared in 2018, later an FIR was registered against him.
He said that another large scale operation has been launched in Soorgar mountain range of Jhaoo in which besides targeting people, looting property, 13 people have been forcibly disappeared and transferred to military prisons. Among them are Jummal son of Qadir Bakhsh, Faiz Muhammad son of Qadir Bakhsh, Ali Bakhsh son of Qadir Bakhsh, Ghous Bakhsh son of Murad, Ramzan son of Murad, Arshad son of Murad, Sanaullah son of Muhammad Hussain, Manzoor son of Muhammad Hussain, Yar Muhammad son of Muhammad Noor, Muhammad Arif son of Allah Bakhsh, Abdul Wahid son of Rasool, Chhatta son of Allah Yar, Rasool Bakhsh son of Nora are included.
He said, Pakistan has turned the Baloch homeland into a vast torture chamber. Human rights are being violated in military operations on a daily basis. Under the so-called democratic regimes, these atrocities have been gradually increasing. Enforced disappearances under Musharraf, mutilated corpses during the PPP era, forced migration of people after the CPEC project during the Muslim League era and collective punishment were added to them and this barbarism was intensified in the present government. Thus, genocide in Balochistan has reached new heights. If the international community remains silent on this, it will be impossible to stop this situation from taking a terrible turn.
