Pakistani barbarism continues unabated. Dil Murad Baloch releases the monthly report

Dil Murad Baloch, Central Information Secretary, Baloch National Movement, while releasing a detailed report for the month of August 2020, said that August is the most grisly month in the history of the Baloch nation; in like manner this year the month of August also marched while inflicting deep wounds to the Baloch nation. This month experienced an increase in military barbarism in Balochistan which is unabatedly continued for the last two decades. More than 70 military operations and raids, 113 people were abducted by the army, 12 people were martyred, hundreds of houses were set on fire, more than 100 women and children were detained from the mountain ranges in Gichk and transferred to military torture cells. Some were later released in miserable conditions.

Dil Murad Baloch said that Hayat Mirza Baloch, a young student of Karachi University, was killed by the Pakistani army in front of his parents at Apsar in Kech. Another young man was killed in prison after being taken into custody and his body was thrown away. Two Sarmachars embraced martyrdom in a clash with a Pakistani army. One another freedom fighter lost his life in a flood rally. In Gwadar, a man was crushed by the Pakistani army with his vehicle. Further, a Baloch activist was martyred by ISI agents in Western Balochistan.

He said that August had always remained a month of bloodshed in Balochistan. Pakistan was created in the same month which has become harmful not only for the Baloch nation but also for the entire humanity. There passes not a single day where with its evil nature and expansionist ambitions Pakistani army don’t attack Baloch’s honor, life, property and their homes.

Dil Murad Baloch said that in this month, areas between Panjgoor, Awaran, Washuk, Gichk, Mazanband, various areas of Jhaoo and Mastung were under devastating military operations. The army detained hundreds of women and children in the Gichk mountain range and transferred them to military camps. Hundreds of houses were set on fire in various areas including Lohri, Kulanch, Tak Dun and Toba. For centuries, people living in the mountain ranges have been evicted at gunpoint. Army looted livestock and poisoned natural springs and ponds. As a result, hundreds of cattle died while drinking poisonous water. Now, these families are forced to live in the near military camps under the military barbarism. Their lives portray a real picture of pain and suffering.

Dil Murad Baloch said that Surgar mountain range of Jhaoo has been suffering from military barbarism for many years. In the same month, various areas of Surgar came under heavy bombardment and devastating operations by ground forces. People’s homes were set on fire and several people were taken into custody and disappeared, while military barbarism continued in various parts of Mastung too.

He said that for the last several years Pakistan has been pursuing an aggressive strategy of collective punishment in which people are being collectively targeted for their affiliation with the freedom movement. Despite all this, the Pakistani state has failed to quell the sentiments for the independence movement in the hearts of the Baloch nation. Therefore, various tactics are being tried. In this regard, in most areas of Awaran, Jhaoo, Mand, the army has dropped pamphlets by helicopters in which people have been warned to cooperate with the Pakistani army and identify the whereabouts and movements of Baloch Sarmachaars.

Dil Murad Baloch said that unless the responsible international bodies take action against Pakistan, the possibility of a decrease in Baloch national genocide will remain nil. The humanitarian crisis created by collective punishment demands that international human rights bodies, including the United Nations, must step forward and carry out their duties to prevent the Baloch genocide.
